It started out as every other break,
A hovercraft sojourn to Timbuktu
Where people find it hard to stay awake
Amidst the singing tumbleweeds and shrews.
But on the way, a tidal wave arose
And washed away the lovely waterfall
In which we always liked to dip our toes
Before we caught the monorail to Gaul.
Bereft, with just the contents of a castle
Sustaining us until the thumbs arrived,
We found the native emus to be facile
As through the air and googleplex they dived.
I had to buy a second pair of pants,
When I beheld the great penguins of France.
Enchanting!
Thanks! This is what happens when it gets late and I have no ideas for sonnets 😀
“great penguins of France” lol!
Wow, your summer was WAY more exciting than mine.
*giggles* Or it’s been so long since I’ve had a summer vacation that I had to get inventive.
