Today, I put my hand into the air
To say, Yes! I would like to be the one
Who makes a difference in this whole affair,
And those who do not know me will be stunned.

For though, at times, I’m glad to do the part
That no-one wants to do because I’m able,
When I’m at liberty to show my heart,
I’m apt to bring so much more to the table.

Though there are tasks one cannot do alone,
And teamwork will remain its own reward,
Neglect of self is not to be condoned,
And joy in doing’s not to be ignored.

When I don’t get my way, I do not bawl;
So is it wrong for me to want it all?
